Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. My bank removed charge as I didnot purchase anything and it was a lease charge and I only gave my information so as to verify my spouses bank information and they aren't a reputable business

Verified ReviewerNot an MLM but as close as you can be to one.
Like most negative reviews here, I've had a horrible experience from top to bottom. The must have an award somewhere for overselling and undelivering.
Let me tell you all the stuff they wait to tell you until you're locked under contract with them and under lease with a store.
EVERYTHING is run off of Facebook. Just do my a favor, go to Facebook, search Mattress by appointment. Click on the pages tab and tell me what you see. Almost every single one of us use the same exact pictures, the same exact wording, etc.
If you are not a Facebook user like me and didn't want to be one who shares their life online, good luck friend. They tell you our customers are not in the country clubs, they're in section 8 housing. That statement really irritated me only because if these mattresses are truly luxury name brand why isn't everyone our customer? Simply because we sell Mattress By Appointments own mattresses, the brand in Lunessence if anybody wants to look into them.
To get to a point where you can actually unlock name brand mattresses, you have to spend ao much money and move up tiers. Almost every dealer I've talked to is forced to stick with Lunessence because they either go bankrupt or shut down before that threshold. That's where I'm at. I'm closing my store in 6 months and I doubt I'll ever unlock those options.
For the record I've done about $100,000 in sales ($50,000 in orders.) I will not resign my lease with my store because this is not a feasible business model. Like I said earlier everyone is given the same info and it's very cookie cutter but when your store is underperforming they just badger you with "its failing because of you" "If you want to succeed you will" "It works for everyone else but somehow not for you?" Etc. You get the jist, they don't offer the help or resources to get over hurdles and they aren't to concerned about it. Alot of us are on the same page with all this company tries to do is get peoples initial opening order of $15,000 (which you have no control of, they billed it for you.
Which wouldn't be a problem if half of your first orders are boxsprings. Keep in mind I've done about $100,000 in sales and after 1.5 years I still have boxsprings from my first order, something youvwouldnt really no unless you sold mattresses before, i didnt, most people use platform bedframes now, boxsprings are going extinct but yet they still make half your first orders boxsprings.) The "mentorship" program is a joke. I worked with 5 mentors in the past 1.5 years, the first one left the company after 1 month. The second lasted only 1 month.
My 3rd one was the owners brother, David, so while I was initially very skeptical of this company because I watched 2 "mentors" quit right off the bat, I was excited to work with someone who was directly related to the owner. Boy was I wrong, that dude not only offered 0 help (I think because our first conversation was me questioning everything because of my experience so far.) So after that he just seemed completely uninterested in helping. This is my 2nd business, my other being an amazon store. Something to keep in mind this is a franchise, you are not your boss, Edwin is.
When you start you're told the minimum monthly order is $1500/mo. You must place an order every 30 days. So my store started slow and never really picked up, yes even at $100,000 in sales its not considered a successful store. So while I knew my store wasn't creating enormous amounts of money for Mattress By Appointment, it was enough for me, I'm a simple guy, single with no kids and very little debt.
I get an email saying my account has fallen below the 6 month rolling average and I had 14 days to send them a $25,000 check to stay open. I'm of course baffled as I still have 6 months left on my lease and thought I was doing good enough for what I wanted. This is where understanding you're working for Edwin and not yourself is important because it didn't matter if it satisfied my needs, my orders didn't satisfy theirs. I then ran some numbers and found out they were missing $20,000 worth of my orders.
When I tell you they damn near all lost their mind when I asked for the numbers they got, how did they get them and where do I find the formulas to do the math myself. This now leads us to today, 2 weeks later, all they will tell me is yes, my numbers were right but to not focus on it because it's not a big deal, you know the same numbers they just threatened to shut me down with, yeah definitely not a big deal at all.
So hopefully I have turned away any and every potential future MBA dealer. If you have any questions please reach out and I will 100% have you looking for a different stream of income.

Verified Reviewer |Mattress is Bad
I purchased an Adjustable Bed a few Years ago. I returned the mattress i had because it Sagged.
Derek Racette is the Dealer in Plattsburgh NY. He gave me another Mattress he said it was Better? It is NOT. I have the Same Issue.
I have been trying to Contact him since early June. He does not answer his phone and he does not answer on Messenger either. His email does not work. I have called the 800-593-****.
3 times in the last 3 weeks and no one has gotten back to me. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and they can not reach Derek either. I want my Money back and a New Mattress. This Company Scams People.
My Elderly neighbors bought a king size mattress and it is only a month old and it Sags as well. Derek will not contact them either.

Verified Reviewer |Mattress are junk material and not as advertised and told by salesman
I bought a king size back in April 2022 told the salesman I have a problem leaving *** because Im a bigger guy he said well I use this one and Im bigger then you I havent had it sink in at all I rotate it so here I am rotating it once a week and I still have a huge hole on one side where its broke down so bad Im not happy paying this much money for a mattress and having a big sink hole on one side and back and body pains when I wake up I definitely do not recommend you buy here think its cheaper to do payments because you dont have the money to buy a new mattress out right they screw you on the price and the mattress isnt worth it
- Salesman was great the mattress overtime is just junk
- Mattress is junk and not worth the money

Mattress By Appointment's reply to: Beware, this is not a good company to work with if the mattress starts breaking down in just 2 weeks. Bad mistake to use this company, out almost $700.00 and I am a senior with medical issues.

I understand that now MBA dealers have to purchase $5000 per month…up from 1500…is that true?
Hi Eddie, I am an MBA store owner, and when I read your post, I felt like I was reading my own MBA journey. Is there any way that we can connect? Thanks, Frustrated MBA store owner
